Report on the Entrepreneurship Workshop at K.G. College for the Academic Year 2024-25
K.G. College of Arts and Commerce organized an Entrepreneurship Workshop for students from February 17th to 21st, 2025. As in previous years, the college invited successful entrepreneurs from various industries to deliver lectures and share their insights with the students.
The inauguration of the workshop was held in the presence of several distinguished guests. The ceremony was graced by the former student of the college, Mr. Pratik Chopra, who is a successful entrepreneur. Despite being a handicapped individual, Mr. Chopra overcame many challenges with the support of his parents and mentors to establish his own small-scale business. The event was also attended by the Managing Trustee of the college, Mr. Kishore Munot, and the Principal of the college, Dr. Swati Munot.
Inaugural Session: The workshop commenced with an inspiring speech from Mr. Pratik Chopra. He shared his incredible journey of overcoming adversity despite being handicapped. With the guidance and support of his parents and mentors, he started his own small-scale business. His products, made from natural raw materials, are sent to various cities like Belgaum, Chennai, Ujjain, Pune, Chakan, and Ichalkaranji. His story encouraged the students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and believe in their abilities to succeed, no matter the challenges they may face.
Day 2: On the second day, renowned entrepreneur Mr. Rajiv Gujjar addressed the students and provided valuable insights into the skills required for entrepreneurship. He discussed the available opportunities in the field, as well as the challenges that entrepreneurs must face and overcome. His talk was motivating and highlighted the importance of perseverance and adaptability in entrepreneurship.
Day 3: The third day of the workshop involved a practical visit to the Swati Enterprises factory in MIDC, where students observed firsthand how labels are made from polycarbonate. The factory visit gave students a unique opportunity to understand the manufacturing processes, learn about production techniques, and see how businesses operate in the industrial sector.
Day 4: On the fourth day, a special online session was conducted by Mr. K. Ravichandran, a distinguished entrepreneur from Chennai. He spoke to the students about recognizing opportunities and turning them into success. He emphasized that a true entrepreneur is one who identifies opportunities and seizes them, even in the face of adversity. He shared his personal experiences of overcoming life’s challenges to achieve success and encouraged the students to develop a strong entrepreneurial mindset. His online session was highly interactive and provided students with valuable insights into entrepreneurship.
Day 5: The final day of the workshop saw Mr. Milind Gandhe, a well-known entrepreneur, guiding the students with his thoughts on creativity and continuous learning. He advised the students that in the entrepreneurial world, it is essential to keep something creative going in your mind and continuously expand one’s knowledge. His talk was motivational and encouraged students to think innovatively.
Additional Sessions and Insights: The Managing Trustee of the institution, Mr. Kishor Munot, gave a thought-provoking speech in the concluding session. He emphasized the importance of reading for nurturing critical thinking and imagination. He also encouraged the students to build their confidence and consider technology in their entrepreneurial ventures.
In her opening remarks, the Principal of the college, Dr. Swati Munot, discussed the importance of entrepreneurship workshops and stressed that students should develop skills in line with the changing times. She encouraged students to think outside the box and develop innovative ideas to succeed in today’s competitive world.
Introduction of Guests and Vote of Thanks: The workshop saw active participation from faculty members, with the introduction of the guests being handled by Prof. Dr. Prashant Khopatikar and Prof. Aarti Khedkar. The event was conducted smoothly with Prof. Dr. Varsha Kirtane as the anchor. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Snehal Borawake and Prof. Savita Chavan.
Conclusion: The workshop witnessed a large attendance, with several key figures from the college administration also participating in the event. Mr. Santosh Munot, the Office Superintendent of the college, along with Mrs. Amrita Mule, Mrs. Harshali Raskar, and a large number of students, were present during the sessions, making the event a grand success.
Overall, the Entrepreneurship Workshop provided valuable insights into the world of business and entrepreneurship, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and motivation needed to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations.
