Media Awareness Program
The power of media in our lives is immense, it is not only a source of entertainment but it helps in
making us from our opinions on major issues of social importance Print and electronic media help in
awareness related to current affairs in an era of information, the impact of media, be it print or
electronic, on our lives, cannot be ignored. Can we imagine our life without reading newspapers, or
travelling from one channel to the other on the television screen.
Media is the very source of mass communication. Media plays the most informative role in our
society. It is the main thing of mass communication. It has various forms, such as the internet,
through which we can get updated news about the world in our grab just with a click of a finger. In
an era where information flows ceaselessly at our fingertips, the ability to discern fact from fiction is
an essential skill. The modern digital landscape is a complex web of genuine news, advertisements,
and, unfortunately, an ever-increasing amount of fake news and misinformation. Media literacy is
essential because it helps people understand the messages that are being communicated to them.
With so many sources of information today, media awareness can help students to identify reliable
sources and filter through the noise to get at the truth. Even they can choose a career option through
this awareness programme. For this purpose, K G College Conducted Certificate course on “Media
Awareness” for K G College students as well as other college students residing in Ahmednagar city.
The course started from 16/10/2023 to 26/10/2023, 3 hours each day and special practicles were
conducted at television studio, radio station and at printing press. Student got real world experience
through these visits and they got excited through this experience.
